KOH PHA-NGAN, pre-party and amazing special shakes...
Everybody stayed in bed for a long time. Still recovering from the wicked poolparty. And because of the rain, there was nothing to do. In the evening we all went out with the English. Mark told us about Mushroom Mountain... Just go to the end of Haad Rin Beach and walk into one of the bars on the mountain (Mountain Bar, Mountain Mellow Bar). Ask for the special shakes or just follow the signs. You pay around 500 Bath for a mushroomshake. And these ones really work! Damn! After picking up Karien (we were so happy to see eachother again), we had a great night with the English. In the crowd everybody got lost. Big party's at all the beachbars. The music is same same but okay. Lot's of drunk people already. We just joined the nightwalks on the beach and in the streets of the town. I tried to take a swim at night, but it was freezing. I had such a good partyynight, Karien and mejust arrived at the bungalow at 13:00 the next day. Mushroomshakes rule!
BANGKOK > CHANG MAI
BANGKOK, day 3
This morning I woke up early, had a nice breakfast. My travelbuddy Stuart should arrive in the morning. After some bad communications and lots of walking we finally meet in the hostel. We catched up with Linda again. We took the tuktuk to the start of the bycicletour. The drive was crazy and the tuktuk was loosing his tires and got a broken motor. We just got off and walked away, but the guy was getting angry. We already learned to ignore those people :-) The bycicletour with Co van Kessel was perfect! only Dutch and Begian people, other people don't know about it. So we are just telling everybody from now. The tour had 2 Thai group leaders that could speak pretty good Dutch. We went out to see all places of Bangkok you normally would never see. Cycling with your bike through indoor markets was fun, we also went through Chinatown, poor villages, rich villages, dropped our bike on several longtailsboats on the river, visited some templed and the food with locals was perfect. Lot's of free drinks. This tour took about 5 hours and was worth the small amount of money!
In the evenng we went out with Linda and Edwin (the guy from haarlem we met during the tour). The 4 of us arranged some couchsurfing when we get back to Holland. We had a fun fast and dangerous tuktukdrive with 4 people to ... the Ping Pong show! Stuart and Linda were affraid to get in ;-) Edwin and I got in for 300 Bath and free drinks, they first asked 1.000 bath. The show was at a dark illegal location. We saw 15 really funny show and had so much fun. The crowd could hear us laughing all the time. The place was packed with all kinds of people, even lots of Thai couples. And you can never imagene how many and long things can come out of one pussy :-) Just see the show...hehee
On the way back we discovered Bangkok is alive 24 hours a day. Restaurants with Thai people still full at 01.00! We got back to Khaosan Road for one of the weirdest Halloweenparty's. We had cocktails and partied with the locals. Those Thai are crazy! And scary to this night :-) Buckets full of whisky, dancing and so on....party everywhere. On my way back I stranded in a small Thai bar with locals. At 05.00 in the morning it was more then enough :-) Many thanks for the hostelcrew to put all my lost things back together during my walk back to the room...
BANGKOK, day 2
Unexpected busy days and BANGKOK, day 1 and 2
Last day before departure, I got a call that I have found somebody for my home...YESS! But that means that I have to arrange a lot of things before going to the airport; go to several banks, arrange a place for my stuff, packing last stuff en move it over, packing my backpack, signing some contracts, and much much more. Arrived on time at the airport and goodbye everyone.
At London Heathrow I already spoke to some other backpackers. The flight to Bangkok surprised me, First Class hahahaaa. Just next to the emergency exit, and next to the bar. After a few good drunks and 3 moviesa had some time to sleep. Oh, and the chocalate cookies...hmmm
Bangkok arrival...shitty traffic, we were in a traffic jam for 3 hours! In the evening met up with some people from Holland and Australia. Had some good spicy food, some people were sick the next day. Geert, you weak ass dutchy! :-)
Second day wentout to seethe city after a relaxing breakfast in the morning sun. After that getting crazy of all those tuktuk drivers. One of the drivers kicked me out because I didn't want to go to another tourist office or suit supplier. They will receive free gasoline when you get in there... So I've seen enough temples for today. Going back to Khaosan Road for a crazy night. My buddy is comming tomorrow moring, and we planned a bicycle tour. with Co van Kessel...typically Dutch!!! :-)
